It is part of a quad-parish community that includes St. Agatha in Hope, St. Lawrence in Jessie, and Sacred Heart in Aneta, all sharing resources and spiritual care under one pastoral structure.

History of Our Parishes

St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown, ND, was established in 1939 after the purchase of a former Presbyterian church building. The first Mass was celebrated on November 26, 1939, with 82 Catholics in attendance. The parish was formally incorporated in 1941 and elevated to parish status in 1944. The Redemptorist Fathers provided spiritual care until 1965, when the parish was transferred to the Diocese of Fargo. The church underwent major renovations in 2005–2007 and added accessibility features in 2013.
