St. Genevieve Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Thibodaux, Louisiana, part of the Diocese of Houma–Thibodaux. The parish was created in 1959 and grew rapidly from its very first weekend, when a converted Lafourche Lumber Co. warehouse hosted two standing-room-only Masses. It opened its Catholic elementary school in 1961, dedicated its permanent church in 1962, and today serves the Thibodaux community with daily and Sunday Masses, religious education for children and adults, Catholic schooling through 7th grade, perpetual adoration, and a wide range of parish ministries and devotions.

Parish History
St. Genevieve was decreed into existence in 1959 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, with Msgr. John Newfield appointed as founding pastor. Laymen of the new community secured a donated Lafourche Lumber Co. warehouse as a temporary church, and the first Mass was offered there on July 5, 1959. The school opened in 1961 and the permanent church was dedicated in 1962.

Mass & Worship Schedule
St. Genevieve offers three Sunday Masses (8:00 AM livestreamed, 10:30 AM, and 6:00 PM), a Saturday Vigil at 4:00 PM, and daily Masses Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM and 12:05 PM, with a Thursday school Mass at 8:45 AM when school is in session. A full Lenten schedule adds the Way of the Cross and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

St. Genevieve Catholic Elementary School
St. Genevieve Catholic School is a parish educational ministry serving Pre-K through 7th grade at 807 Barbier Avenue, Thibodaux. It is led by Principal Kristen Chauvin and Assistant Principal Kris Guillot, with Fr. Eric Leyble serving as Pastor on the Consultative School Board. The school opened in 1961 with K–3 and an all-lay faculty under Principal Edna Ledet; the School Sisters of Notre Dame administered it from 1964 to 1969, after which a fully lay staff continued the mission. A second section was added to each grade in 1982 and Developmental Kindergarten in 1987, with a parish-school wing added in 1991.

Youth & Summer Programs
St. Genevieve runs seasonal formation and recreation programs for children and youth throughout the summer. The most prominent is Building the Kingdom Bible Camp, a Pre-K through 5th-grade morning program. A Jesus in July Bible Camp and ongoing Teen Bible Study extend faith formation beyond the classroom.
