St. Gabriel is a Roman Catholic parish in the Village of Glendale, Ohio, a small residential community north of Cincinnati. Founded in 1857 by Catholics who had been commuting to SS. Peter and Paul in Reading, the parish is the oldest Catholic congregation in Glendale and today worships in a sandstone church built in 1906-1907 at the corner of Sharon Avenue and Church Street. As of 2025, St. Gabriel has been grouped together with St. John the Evangelist (West Chester) and St. Michael (Sharonville) into the St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes, served by clergy including Pastor Fr. Ed Burns and Parochial Vicar Fr. Scott Morgan. The parish also operates St. Gabriel Consolidated School, a National Blue Ribbon School serving multiple parishes in the area.

Parish Identity & History
St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish has served the Village of Glendale, Ohio since 1857, making it the oldest Catholic congregation in the village. The 1859 cornerstone for the first church was laid by Bishop Purcell on land donated by Gross & Dietrich, and the present sandstone church — designed in what sources call 'Roman Nouveau' or 'American Picturesque' style — was completed and dedicated in 1907. The parish is now one of the three parishes of the St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

The Church Building
The 1906–1907 St. Gabriel Church is built of warm tan sandstone with a red tile roof. An octagonal wing houses the baptistery on the east front; a square crenellated bell tower rises on the west. Four narrow arches above the main entrance are echoed on the baptistery sides, while the rear features a circular rose window. Inside, the barrel-vaulted ceiling is faux-marbleized in cream and divided into squares by white beams, with original plaster Stations of the Cross and a sanctuary lamp that has burned since the church's first days.

St. Gabriel Consolidated School
St. Gabriel Consolidated School is the parish's parish school, located at 18 West Sharon Road, Glendale. It serves multiple parishes of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and was recognized in 2010 as a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School. The current principal is Kem Markham. The school offers a rigorous Catholic elementary curriculum alongside programs such as Scouting, VEX IQ Robotics, Band, Webby Dance, Junior High Drama Club, team sports, and Student Council, supported by an active Boosters and PTO.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith formation at St. Gabriel spans the Parish School of Religion (Grades 1–8), Adult Faith Formation directed by Deacon Mike Montgomery, RCIA for adults and youth, Jr. High and High School Youth Ministry, and Vacation Bible School. Catechists and substitutes are needed each year for the PSR program, and sacramental preparation is offered for Baptism, First Reconciliation / First Eucharist, and Confirmation.

St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes
In September 2025, following the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7, Tri-County Catholics was renamed the St. Carlo Acutis Family of Parishes. The family unites St. Gabriel (Glendale), St. John the Evangelist (West Chester), and St. Michael (Sharonville) under shared clergy and staff, allowing parishes to share resources, schools, formation, and outreach while keeping each parish's distinct worship life. Fr. Ed Burns serves as Pastor, with Fr. Scott Morgan as Parochial Vicar. The combined website is hosted at stcarlocincy.org, which also references the previously used tricountycatholics.org domain.
