Parish History

St. Frances Cabrini began on July 21, 1963 as a Catholic Mission founded by Father James Mullins, then pastor of St. Stephen's in Weatherford, to minister to workers in the DeCordova Bend area (now Pecan Plantation). The mission launched with just three families — Corona, Elizondo, and Rodriguez — plus migrant workers. In November 1976 the first Mass was celebrated in the St. Frances Cabrini Community Center (now the Parish Hall). The parish continued to grow and built its main church in 1990, the religious education building in 1996, and the Family Life Center in 2011. In 2026, the parish is constructing a columbarium and additional parking.
