History

St. Florian Parish was established in 1911 by the Capuchins to serve the growing Catholic population of West Milwaukee. In 1913, pastoral care was assumed by the Discalced Carmelites, who also helped open St. Florian Catholic Elementary School that same year. The parish building has served the community for more than a century, and the former school building was repurposed in 2015 as Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
