St. Felix Catholic Church is a historic parish in downtown Wabasha, Minnesota, along the Mississippi River, serving the local Catholic community for more than 165 years. Founded in 1858 and incorporated that October, the parish grew from early missionary Masses celebrated by Fr. Lucien Galtier into a thriving congregation of German and Irish immigrants. Today St. Felix is part of the Wabasha-Kellogg parish cluster in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, offering weekend and weekday Masses, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and a welcoming river-town faith community.

History
Catholic presence in Wabasha began as early as 1830, when Augustin Rocque built a house and Fr. Lucien Galtier celebrated Mass there during his travels between Mendota and Dubuque. By 1850 Bishop James Cretin urged Fr. Augustin Ravoux to erect a chapel; pioneers rafted logs from Chaska down the Minnesota and Mississippi rivers to frame Wabasha’s first chapel on upper Main Street. A large influx of German and Irish immigrants after 1850 led to the need for a resident pastor, and Fr. Felix Tissot was appointed pastor of Catholics in Wabasha and Goodhue counties in 1858. St. Felix Church was officially incorporated in October 1858.
