Parish Identity & History

St. Eusebius Parish was established in 1877 as the Catholic parish of East Brady, a small borough in Clarion County along the Allegheny River. A late-19th-century county history records that before the church was built, local Catholics had to travel to Brady's Bend for Mass; with the construction of St. Eusebius, the community had its own place of worship, with the church valued at $3,400 and the first priest's rectory at $1,500. The first pastor was Father Brady, and the founding membership numbered roughly forty-five families — about three hundred persons. The parish has remained a fixture of Catholic life in East Brady ever since and is today part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie.
