Parish History
St. Elizabeth Church was founded through the vision of Bishop Edwin O'Hara and a grant from the Catholic Extension Society, becoming the first Catholic church in Cedar County when it was dedicated in 1946. Early years saw Mass offered every other week by the pastor of St. Mary, Nevada, MO, until the arrival of the first resident pastor, Fr. John J. White.
