St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is a large Roman Catholic parish in Plano, Texas, part of the Diocese of Dallas. Founded in 1976 with fewer than 100 families meeting at Haggard Middle School, it has grown to serve over 4,000 families across a sprawling two-campus site on the city's west side. The parish is committed to fidelity to the Gospel, the Magisterium, and Catholic tradition, offering multiple Sunday and daily Masses, livestreamed liturgies, faith formation for all ages, more than 70 ministries, and a columbarium. A brand-new sanctuary building was completed and dedicated in late 2023, replacing the original 1981 church.

Parish History
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish was officially established on February 28, 1976, during America's Bicentennial Year. Named for the first native-born American to be canonized, the parish was created by the Diocese of Dallas to serve northwest Plano, with the first Mass celebrated on Palm Sunday, April 11, 1976 at Haggard Middle School. The community worshipped in a Religious Education building from Palm Sunday 1978, broke ground on its sanctuary in May 1980, and celebrated its first Sunday Liturgy in the new church on November 8, 1981, with Bishop Thomas Tschoepe dedicating the building on October 10, 1982. From under 100 founding families, the parish has grown to more than 4,500 families and has given birth to two daughter parishes—Prince of Peace (1991) and Our Lady of Angels (2000).

Building for the Future: The New Sanctuary
By 2019 parish leaders concluded that the 1981 sanctuary was no longer adequate and that repair costs would rival new construction. A Capital Campaign launched in October 2019, the old building was torn down in October 2020, and a new sanctuary was constructed with a large narthex, daily chapel (incorporating stained-glass windows and artifacts from the previous church), choir rehearsal spaces, gathering rooms and a bride's room. The new church held its ribbon-cutting on November 20, 2023 and hosted Easter services in 2024. Parish leaders have described the new building as 'a beacon of light in our community for the next 100+ years.'

Clergy & Staff
The parish is currently led by Pastor Rev. Bruce Bradley with Parochial Vicars Rev. Tuan Le and Rev. Simeon Nwankwo. Fr. Edwin Leonard serves as Director of Vocations. Four deacons—Paul Viramontes, Mike Seibold, Norm Smith and Vince Vaillancourt—assist at Masses and throughout parish ministries. The parish also employs a large lay staff supporting worship, music, faith formation, youth and young adult evangelization, communications, finance, human resources, events and facilities.

Seton's Faith Formation programs partner with parents to nurture faith at home and in the community, rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the love of Christ. Children and youth ministry offers Children's Liturgy of the Word, SPARK (3rd–5th grades), IGNITE (6th–8th), CREW (9th–12th), Vacation Bible School, OCIC/OCIA initiation programs, and Family Faith Formation. Adult Faith Formation, Young Adult Ministry, Young Family Connect, Fully Inclusive Seton Ministry, and scouting round out the offerings.

Sacraments
The parish prepares members for the sacraments of initiation and life milestones. OCIA welcomes adults into the Catholic Church while OCIC supports children; First Holy Communion and Confirmation preparation are coordinated through Faith Formation. Couples seeking Marriage are invited to contact the parish office, and Reconciliation is offered weekly plus by appointment. Emergency sacramental care (such as Anointing of the Sick) is available through the after-hours priest line via the main parish number, Option 3.

Outreach & Charity
Seton parishioners actively support local and regional Catholic outreach efforts and serve as a shelter during periods of extreme cold. The parish partners with Minnie's Food Pantry, Catholic Charities of Dallas, and the Salvation Army, alongside parish-based ministries such as the Knights of Columbus (which hosts the Monday-night rosary) and a Caregivers Support Group for those tending to sick or aging loved ones.

Music, Liturgy & Devotions
The parish's Music Ministry supports Sunday and daily Masses with adult and children's choirs and choir rehearsal spaces in the new building. The Director of Worship and Director of Music Ministry lead liturgical preparation. Devotional life centers on weekday Mass, Friday Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction, and a weekly rosary—Monday nights via Zoom and Tuesday mornings after Mass in the Daily Chapel.

Campus, Columbarium & Hours
Seton occupies two connected campuses on Plano's west side: the Main Church and Parish Activity Center on Piedra Drive / Spring Creek Parkway, and the Seton Faith Formation Center across the street. The Seton Columbarium and Garden, consecrated on All Souls Day, includes a fountain with a statue of the parish's patron saint. The Main Church, Daily Chapel, and Columbarium are open daily 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM; the Chapel remains open until 7:00 PM on Wednesdays; parish offices run 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
