Why belong here
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton offers a stable, multigenerational Catholic home in northwest Omaha, with more than 1,100 families and seven decades of shared parish life behind it. Newcomers are personally welcomed by a deacon after registering, can join a strong religious education and youth ministry program (rooted in the parish's early Life Teen tradition), and can take part in daily Mass, frequent reconciliation, a parish center opened in 1999, and music led by a dedicated director. The parish carries a clear sense of continuity: many former members became priests, including Bishop Joseph Hanefeldt of Grand Island, and an incoming pastor is still personally introduced and supported by the community.

About St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish

History of Our Parish
Parishioners trace the parish's roots to 1981, when Archbishop Sheehan carved a new parish out of St. James to serve northwest Omaha's growing Catholic population. The founding 700 families met for Mass in the gym at Sunny Slope Elementary School on Old Maple Road for three years while their own church was built. In 1984, the parish moved into its dedicated building, designed by Zenon-Beringer and Associates and built into the side of a hill to conserve energy. Since then, the parish has added a rectory, a parish center (1999), a re-dedication in 2004, and a new icon of its patroness in 2022.
