St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families is a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit, serving the communities of Center Line and Warren in the Macomb County suburbs north of Detroit. Formed on June 30, 2012 through the merger of St. Clement Parish (Center Line) and St. Teresa of Avila Parish (Warren), it is the spiritual heir of four earlier parishes — Ascension, St. Clement, St. Dorothy, and St. Leonard of Port Maurice — whose roots reach back to 1854. The parish is part of the Northeast Central Macomb Family 3 of Parishes and is home to St. John's Deaf Center, which celebrates a weekly American Sign Language Mass.

St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families is a warm, debt-free parish community rooted in more than 170 years of Catholic tradition in Center Line and Warren. The parish welcomes new members and visitors at every Mass and offers a full sacramental life, year-round Religious Formation for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, an active St. Vincent de Paul conference providing emergency food, clothing and bill assistance, and weekly Eucharistic Adoration. As host of St. John's Deaf Center, it also provides a unique home for the deaf Catholic community of southeast Michigan, including a Sunday American Sign Language Mass.

Our History
St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families was created on June 30, 2012 through a five-year Together In Faith process blessed by Archbishop Allen Vigneron. It united four parishes that had served the Center Line and Warren communities for generations. Ascension (est. 1926) merged with St. Dorothy in 2007 to form St. Teresa of Avila; St. Leonard of Port Maurice (est. 1950) also became part of St. Teresa of Avila that year. St. Clement (est. 1854) had absorbed Ascension earlier. In 2012 the two surviving parishes — St. Clement and St. Teresa of Avila — were joined under the new name, chosen to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary as patroness of family life. The St. Dorothy worship site on Frazho Road in Warren was closed by archdiocesan decree on June 29, 2020; the final Mass there was celebrated June 28, 2020.

Family of Parishes
St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families is one of five parishes in the Northeast Central Macomb Family 3 of Parishes, an Archdiocese of Detroit initiative activated in July 2022 to help neighboring parishes share resources and ministry. The other parishes in the family are St. Anne, St. Faustina, St. Louise de Marillac, and St. Mark — all located in Warren. Fr. Robert Bauer serves as Priest in Solidum and Family Moderator for the grouping.

The parish is led by Fr. Robert Bauer, who serves as Pastor and Family Moderator, supported by four priests in solidum and a dedicated team of lay staff. Deacon Stanley Avery assists at liturgy and parish life. Religious Formation & Youth Ministry
Religious Formation classes are offered on Thursday evenings during the school year (September through May) for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The program is designed as an extension of the faith formation parents give at home, with the expectation that families worship together at Sunday Mass and holy days of obligation. Parishioners are encouraged to be Christian stewards of their time and talent and to serve both the parish and the wider local community.

St. Vincent de Paul
The parish's St. Vincent de Paul conference is a frontline provider of emergency assistance to neighbors in need — offering food, clothing, help with utility bills, and referrals for dental care and other services. Evangelization Commission
The parish's Evangelization Commission serves as a catalyst for the total evangelizing effort of the parish, working directly with the pastor, pastoral staff, Parish Pastoral Council, and the other parish commissions. Modeled on the U.S. bishops' 'Go and Make Disciples' plan and the Archdiocese of Detroit's 'You Shall Be My Witnesses' strategic plan, the commission organizes an annual parish mission on discipleship, writes a weekly bulletin article, and hosts quarterly workshops on sharing the faith. It is intentionally representative of the parish's gender, age, ethnic, and state-of-life diversity, and coordinates with the Archdiocesan Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.

Liturgical Ministries
The parish invites volunteers of all ages to serve at Mass as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes, and Altar Servers. Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, and Acolytes are expected to be Confirmed, practicing Catholics. Training is available through Sr. Pat Eeckhout, the EME & Lector Coordinator. Current Lector and Altar Server schedules are published on the parish website in three-month blocks.

St. John's Deaf Center
St. John's Deaf Center, located at 14057 E. Nine Mile Road in Warren, is a mission of St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families and a gathering place for the Catholic deaf community of southeast Michigan. The center celebrates a Sunday Mass in American Sign Language at 11:30 AM and serves as a spiritual and social hub for deaf and hard-of-hearing parishioners and visitors.
