Faith
The beginning of our spiritual lives begins with Faith. We believe, know and proclaim four basic truths that together make up the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God has a plan for your life. Sin interrupts that plan and separates you from God. Jesus Christ died and rose so that you could be forgiven of these sins and be united to God in heaven. Through faith and his Church, you can be united to God forever. Our faith finds its expression in our communal worship of God through Mass, Eucharistic love, our preaching and the Liturgy of the Hours where we sing God’s praises in the Psalms.
Leadership
Each of us is called to dedicate our lives to a purpose and a vocation. And through our Baptism and Confirmation we are empowered to lead others whatever our job, career or place in life. Sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly from the front, and sometimes by simply accompanying other people. That is the nature of the servant leadership that we practice here at St. Dominic Parish. By our words, and by our very lives, we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ, boldly and unreservedly.
Community
A church community is one which goes out seeking to show the world that there can be no greater gift we can give as Catholics than to love our neighbor. And who is our neighbor? You are. So is the man experiencing homelessness down the block. So is the immigrant who has come to this country chasing a better life. We are all part of one human family. After all, we don’t get to Heaven by ourselves. It takes a community.
