St. Dominic was a historic Roman Catholic parish in the Hamilton neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, founded in 1906 and long anchored by a stone Norman-style church, a parish school staffed by the Daughters of Charity, and a close-knit community. In 2024, as part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Seek the City to Come pastoral plan, St. Dominic was merged into St. Matthew Parish in Northwood and is no longer an independent parish; regular Masses now follow the St. Matthew schedule, though the St. Dominic site remains available for baptisms, weddings, funerals and other celebrations by request.

Parish History
St. Dominic Parish was established in 1906 to serve the growing Catholic community in Northeast Baltimore. The first church, a Norman-style stone building seating 400, was followed by a parish school in 1908. A larger school building was completed by 1920, staffed by the Daughters of Charity. The church was expanded in 1925 and 1957 to accommodate a growing congregation, eventually seating 1,100. The school closed in 2005 after decades of serving more than 1,200 students per year.
Seek the City to Come Merger
In 2024, the Archdiocese of Baltimore announced that St. Dominic would merge with St. Matthew in Northwood, along with Blessed Sacrament, Most Precious Blood, Shrine of the Little Flower, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Francis of Assisi. St. Dominic ceased functioning as an independent parish; regular Masses moved to St. Matthew, while the St. Dominic church building remains available for baptisms, weddings, funerals and other celebrations at the pastor's discretion.
Vocations and Community Legacy
St. Dominic was known for nurturing many vocations to religious life and priesthood. More than 40 women from the parish joined religious orders including the Daughters of Charity, Franciscan Sisters, Sisters of Mercy, Mission Helpers, and School Sisters of Notre Dame. The parish also gave the Church more than 20 priests and seven brothers.
