Parish History
Catholic life in Stoneboro predates the borough's incorporation. According to the published history of Stoneboro, Catholic services were held in private homes for area residents until a barn was remodeled in 1868 to serve as Stoneboro's first church building. In 1874 a new frame church was constructed on Franklin Street to house the growing congregation, and in 1887 the St. Columbkille congregation was formally established as a parish rather than a mission. The parish has continued on that same Franklin Street site ever since, with its current pastor, Very Rev. Andrew M. Boyd, V.F., appointed by the Bishop of Erie effective December 16, 2025.
