Why belong here
St. Clement is a faithful, close-knit rural parish where the whole community gathers for a single Sunday Mass and stays afterward for faith formation. Catechumens preparing for full initiation can walk through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) on Sunday mornings after Mass in the upstairs rectory, and parents can enroll their children in the Parish School of Religion (PSR), which also meets each Sunday after Mass. Parishioners also enjoy lighter fellowship at the monthly Family Fun & Bingo Night in the Parish Hall on the second Thursday of each month — a good entry point for newcomers looking for community as well as worship.

History
St. Clement Catholic Church was established in 1945 as a parish of what is now the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport. It is the Catholic community serving the small town of Vivian in northwest Louisiana and is one of the deanery's rural parishes. The parish's patron, Pope St. Clement I (died c. AD 99), was the third or fourth successor of St. Peter and is remembered for his epistle to the Corinthian church — one of the oldest Christian texts outside the New Testament. For roughly eighty years the parish has provided Sunday worship, the sacraments, and religious education to families in Vivian and the surrounding area. The parish's own website and the diocesan directory do not publish further narrative history; the founding date and continuous Catholic presence are the principal historical anchors available online.
