History
St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School and Parish in Edwards, Colorado was founded in 2000. The inspiration came from Cardinal James Francis Stafford, then Archbishop of Denver, who desired a Catholic education for all children in the Vail Valley. St. Clare of Assisi was chosen as patron because she placed God above all else and saw Jesus in people of every socioeconomic background, a value that resonates with the economic diversity of the Vail Valley.
