History & 2025 Renovation
Founded in 1983 by Bishop Jude Speyrer, St. Charles Borromeo holds the distinction of being the very first new parish created in the Diocese of Lake Charles. More than four decades later, on November 4, 2025 — the feast day of its patron saint — Bishop Glen John Provost dedicated the church after an eleven-month, roughly one-million-dollar renovation project that added a new wooden ceiling, additional seating, new flooring, a sacristy, a foyer that doubles as catechism classrooms, a bridal/quiet room, new restrooms, and enhanced handicapped accessibility.
