Parish History
St. Catherine’s began in 1944 as a mission for three families. It became a full parish in 1968 and has since grown to serve over 110 families with diverse ministries and bilingual Masses.
- 1944: First Mass offered in McMinnville for three families in Dixie theatre by Fr. Peter Davitt of Winchester, TN.
- 1957: Land purchased on Faulkner Springs Road; church dedicated March 25, 1958, named in memory of Catherine Cecilia Reed.
- 1968: Mission constituted a parish with full parochial rights; Fr. Mark Sterbenz became first resident pastor.
- 1989: First Mass in Spanish celebrated in June.
- 2007: Second Spanish Mass added due to growth in Hispanic families.
