History of St. Catherine Labouré Parish
The parish was founded in the 1960s as part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego and has served the Linda Vista area since 1964. From its earliest years it organized into guilds—one of the original seven, the Santa Teresa Guild, was established on January 19, 1965 and has met monthly in members' homes ever since. Over time the parish has grown into a diverse community of cultures and family styles, including a thriving Spanish-speaking community that worships at the Sunday 1:00 PM Spanish Mass.

Mass and Sacraments
The parish offers daily Mass Monday through Friday at 8:00 AM, a Saturday Vigil at 5:00 PM, and four Sunday Masses at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM in English plus 1:00 PM in Spanish. Confessions are heard Saturday 4:00–4:45 PM or by appointment, and Eucharistic Adoration is offered Friday mornings from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. Friday Stations of the Cross are celebrated at 6:45 PM in English and 7:30 PM in Spanish (Vía Crucis).

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish runs a Children's Faith Formation program, a Youth Catechesis program (including an OCIA-for-Teens track), and OCIA / RICA classes for adults in both English and Spanish. OCIA in English meets Sunday mornings at 10:45 AM in the Religious Education Building (St. Francis Room) and prepares catechumens and candidates for the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil; RICA in Spanish meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM (contact Josefina Rosas at 858-349-9137).

Adult Faith & Young Adult Enrichment
The Adult Faith Enrichment Committee meets six to eight times a year to plan DVD study series, Taizé Prayer in Advent and Lent, book studies, 'Little Book' sales in Advent and Lent, speakers on religious topics, women's retreats, and other events. Seasonal programs include a book study with Deacon Jim, Senior Strength Training, Theology Uncorked evenings, and a Seasons of Hope bereavement support group.

Outreach & Charity
Outreach is a defining part of parish life. The Food Pantry feeds over 950 families and around 1,200 homeless individuals each year and is overseen by Jan Cortez; preferred donations include cereal, canned meat/tuna/chicken, peanut butter, soup, canned vegetables, granola bars, pasta/rice, fruit cups, small chip bags, coffee singles, and bottled water (no expired food, please). The Knights of Columbus Council brings Catholic men together for parish and community service and supports seminarians and scholarships, while the Santa Teresa Guild—one of the parish's original guilds, founded January 19, 1965—hosts an annual Baby Shower benefiting Birthline and CCSA, supports bake sales and the food pantry, and hosts a Veterans Appreciation Day.

Bereavement — Seasons of Hope
Seasons of Hope is a Catholic, Christ-centered grief support program for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Using prayer, Scripture, music, discussion, faith sharing, and journaling, the six-session group helps participants cope with grief on their journey through sorrow. Sessions are held mornings in the fall and spring and interested persons can begin in either session.

Devotions & Prayer Life
Beyond Mass and confession, the parish sustains a steady devotional life centered on the Eucharist. Friday morning Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament runs from 8:30 to 10:00 AM, and Friday Stations of the Cross are prayed in English at 6:45 PM and in Spanish (Vía Crucis) at 7:30 PM during Lent. The parish name honors St. Catherine Labouré (1806–1876), the French Daughter of Charity to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary is traditionally said to have entrusted the Miraculous Medal; her feast day is November 28.
