St. Bruno Catholic Church is a historic Roman Catholic parish in Pinckneyville, Illinois, founded in 1872 as a mission split off from Sacred Heart Parish in nearby Du Quoin. It is part of the Diocese of Belleville and shares its pastor and many ministries with its partnered parish, St. Mary Magdalen in Todds Mill (est. 1868). Today the two parishes form the 'St. Bruno & St. Mary Magdalen' Catholic community, served from the parish office at 210 N. Gordon St., Pinckneyville. History
St. Bruno began as a mission of Sacred Heart Parish in Du Quoin in the 19th century. As Sacred Heart's congregation grew, the parish was divided in 1871, and St. Bruno's Parish was formally established in Pinckneyville the following year, in 1872. Sacramental registers — baptisms, marriages, deaths — were opened that same year, and a first resident pastor took up duties in the 1870s. Today, more than 150 years later, the parish continues to serve the Catholic families of Pinckneyville and the surrounding Perry County area.

The parish community is currently served by Reverend John Igwe, CM, as Administrator. He is assisted by Deacon Anthony Kellerman and by parish staff Kacie Davis (Secretary) and Janet Hayden (Coordinator of Religious Education). Monsignor Thomas Flach served as Senior Priest in Residence until his departure from the Diocese in June 2025.

Faith Formation & School
Religious education for children is offered through PSR/FFC (Parish School of Religion / Faith Formation of Children), meeting Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Youth Center in Du Quoin. Adults interested in becoming Catholic or completing their sacraments take part in OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults), which meets at Sacred Heart's Haffner Hall in Du Quoin at 6:00 p.m. The parish also operates St. Bruno Catholic School, a parish grade school at 210 N. Gordon Street (618-357-8276).

Music & Choir
The St. Bruno Parish Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. and welcomes singers from all the area parishes who would like to join. The choir supports the parish liturgies and supports the parish's broader effort to keep Catholic worship beautiful and accessible in the small-town Perry County community.

Outreach & Charity
St. Bruno participates in the wider Catholic Charities outreach of the Diocese of Belleville and supports a local St. Vincent de Paul Conference, which offers confidential material assistance to anyone in need.
