Why belong here
St. Bridget's is a small, tight-knit rural Catholic community where parishioners know one another by name and worship in a 1927-built country church. The parish offers daily and Sunday Mass, First Friday adoration, religious education for children and youth, and a wide range of liturgical ministries — altar servers, lectors, greeters, ushers, Eucharistic ministers, money counters, and musicians — so newcomers can easily find a way to serve. Combined with sister parish St. Patrick's in Marengo, the community offers more ministry opportunities and a larger faith family than a parish this size could offer alone.

About St. Bridget Parish
St. Bridget Catholic Church sits at 104 3rd Street in the small Iowa County town of Victor. Founded in 1873 and built in its current form in 1927, it has been the Catholic home of the Victor farming community for over 150 years. The parish is now combined with St. Patrick's in Marengo, ten miles to the north, and the two share a pastor, secretaries, and faith-formation program. According to the parish's own website, the community believes that Jesus Christ came to reveal the fullness of God's love, and continues to celebrate that love through praise, sacraments, service, and community.

Communion to the Homebound
Because Victor is a small rural community with elderly and homebound parishioners, St. Patrick / St. Bridget operates a ministry bringing Holy Communion to those who can no longer easily come to Mass. Volunteers who wish to bring Christ to those who cannot physically attend are invited to join this ministry.
Getting Involved
The parish's own 'Get Involved' page invites newcomers first to attend the Lord's Day and join in Sunday Mass, then to find a ministry that fits their gifts. The page emphasizes that 'faith in action often feeds our personal spiritual growth in prayer' — a reminder that service is also a path of spiritual growth for the volunteer. Anyone interested can contact the parish office to learn more.
