About Us
Saint Boniface is a Roman Catholic Church in the heart of downtown Louisville and has been ministering to the local community since 1836. We are a community formed by the Word of God, the Sacraments and the Tradition of the Catholic Church. We strive to be a catalyst for positive change in our neighborhood. We put the faith we have received into action through a variety of social outreach programs, namely: Saint John's Center for Homeless Men, Central Louisville Community Ministries, and by assisting Nativity Academy in their mission to educate at-risk youth. In these efforts we strive to be a refuge for those in need, and offer hope to our surrounding community. Saint Boniface Catholic Church welcomes all who wish to worship with us and to participate in this ministry of service to others.
Ministries
Saint Boniface Church has survived generation after generation in a frequently changing urban environment. The people of Saint Boniface are resilient and desire to maintain and to grow their sense of community. We invite you to experience this parish for yourself! With our proximity to the downtown hotels, Saint Boniface is often blessed with out-of-town visitors, and we hope to provide them with the same welcome that we give to everyone else. If you are seeking a parish where you can get involved, Saint Boniface is that parish! We have plenty of opportunities for lectors, altar servers, ushers, extraordinary ministers of holy communion, gift bearers, cantors, and members of the choir. Some ministries require parish or diocesan training, and some ministries have certain restrictions. If you are interested, please contact the parish office for more information.

Clergy and Staff
Fr. George Otuma is the current pastor, born in Ayiko in the Northern Province of Uganda, a member of the Apostles of Jesus in Kenya. He was ordained to the priesthood on July 21, 2001. He attended Pokea Minor Seminary and Apostles of Jesus Moroto Minor Seminary in Uganda and earned a bachelor’s degree from Apostles of Jesus Theologicum in Kenya. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, he previously served as pastor of St. Bernard Church in Clementsville, Sacred Heart Church in Liberty and Christ the King and Immaculate Heart of Mary churches in Louisville. The parish staff includes Pat Heitz (Business Manager), Bill Lincoln (Organist), Leslie Hollas (Office Manager), and Fr. George Otuma (Pastor).
