St. Bartholomew Catholic Church is a multicultural Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Miami located at 8005 Miramar Parkway in Miramar, Florida, in the Southwest Broward Deanery. Founded on September 4, 1962 by Monsignor Noel T. Fogarty — an Irish-born priest who supervised the construction of the church, school, and convent — the parish first celebrated Mass in Miramar's firehouse before breaking ground on its permanent buildings in 1964. Today the parish grounds include the church, a Catholic school (Pre-K through 8th grade, founded 1965), the Sacred Heart Center, and a repurposed convent used for retreats and meetings. The parish community is notably multilingual, with weekend Masses in English, Spanish, and French/Creole, and it maintains active ministries serving the Haitian and Spanish-speaking communities, the elderly, the sick, and the grieving. History
St. Bartholomew was one of several parishes established in 1962 as the newly created Diocese of Miami responded to explosive post-war Catholic growth in South Florida. Monsignor Noel Fogarty, freshly ordained in Ireland in 1957, was named administrator and supervised construction of the church, school, and convent while also serving as chaplain to the nearby South Florida State Mental Hospital. The Cuban-refugee Sisters of Charity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus staffed the school from 1965 until 1988, and their former convent is now used for parish meetings, retreats, and gatherings. Monsignor Fogarty left St. Bartholomew in 1971 to become pastor of St. Rose of Lima and later archdiocesan chancellor, vicar for clergy, and vicar general — but the parish he founded has continued his vision of a faith community built around worship, education, fellowship, stewardship, and charity.

St. Bartholomew Catholic School
St. Bartholomew Catholic School opened in 1965 and today serves Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade on its campus at 8003 Miramar Parkway, immediately adjacent to the church and parish center. The school follows the academic standards of the Archdiocese of Miami and offers a Christ-centered, well-balanced, faith-based curriculum designed to embrace Catholic faith, enrich young minds academically, and form global citizens. In addition to its daytime academic program, the school building functions as a community space for evening meetings of A.A., N.A., and scouting activities, while the historic convent next door is used for retreats and parish meetings. The school building is easily recognized by the colorful mural on its facade, located between the church and the Sacred Heart Center.
