St. Bartholomew Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati located in the Finneytown/Springfield Township area of northern Hamilton County, Ohio, at 9375 Winton Road. Founded in 1961 to serve the booming post-war suburbs, the parish grew up around its elementary school and built its present church in 1969. Today St. Bartholomew is part of the Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes and shares ministry and sacramental life with neighboring parishes while continuing to operate John Paul II Catholic School on its grounds. Known affectionately as 'St. Bart's,' the parish runs a robust slate of ministries — from St. Vincent de Paul and youth ministry to the Knights of Columbus and an annual summer festival — that animate both its worship and its outreach.

Our History
St. Bartholomew was established in August 1961 when Archbishop Karl J. Alter assigned Fr. Francis J. Flanagan to begin a new parish in northern Hamilton County. The parish grew out of 17 acres of farmland, a farmhouse and a small barn in Springfield Township, with the remodeled barn serving as the first chapel and Kolping Grove on Winton Road hosting early Sunday Masses. The combined school-and-worship building opened in 1962 and, by the late 1960s, growing enrollment required a permanent church, which Archbishop Paul F. Liebold dedicated on December 21, 1969. Five decades of growth — a consolidated school, World Youth Day pilgrimages, the permanent diaconate, and a vibrant festival tradition — shaped the parish that today takes its place in the Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes.

- 1962 — Oldenburg Franciscan Sisters arrive under Principal Sr. Mary Mark Deters.

- 1980 — St. Bartholomew Consolidated School formed with Corpus Christi and St. John Neumann parishes.
- 2008 — Consolidated school renamed John Paul II Catholic School.
- 2011 — 50th anniversary liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Dennis Schnurr on August 28.
- 2012 — Cornerstone refilled with memorabilia and reinstalled in August.
- 2018 — Trinity Memorial Garden dedicated in April by Bishop Binzer.
Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes
St. Bartholomew is part of the Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes, formed under the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's 'Beacons of Light' pastoral planning initiative. The parish shares a pastor, parochial vicars, and many support functions with its sister parishes. As of late summer 2025, the parish office has been consolidated at the St. Vivian Campus, and sacramental and pastoral life across the family is coordinated through the Family Pastoral Council and shared staff.

Faith Formation & School
The parish operates John Paul II Catholic School on its grounds at 9375 Winton Road, a PreK-8 elementary school that was formed through a 1980 consolidation with Corpus Christi and St. John Neumann and renamed in 2008 when Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Clare joined the collaboration. St. Bartholomew provides significant tuition assistance through its budget and individually-funded programs to parishioner families. Children who do not attend the parish school are served through CCD / Religious Education, and adults can come into full communion through the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) process.

Memorial Garden & Prayer Garden
The parish grounds include the Trinity Memorial Garden, dedicated in April 2018 by Bishop Binzer to honor deceased parishioners, family and friends, with each brick inscribed with a name. Located in front of the Parish Office, the garden was the inspiration of parishioner Ray Rom in memory of his wife Carolyn. A second prayer garden in front of the rectory was constructed by parishioner Tyler Weingartner as his Eagle Scout project.

The Fr. Krumpe Activity Center (KAC) on the St. Bartholomew campus is available for reservation by parishioners; requests are handled through the Our Lady of Divine Providence Family of Parishes office.
