Why belong here
St. Augustine offers a faithful, intimate Sunday worship experience in the rural heart of Knox County, where parishioners know one another and the Catholic tradition is celebrated with simplicity and devotion. As a mission linked with Sacred Heart (Abingdon) and St. Bernard (Bushnell), it brings the Sacramental life of the larger church — weekly Mass, Confession before Sunday Mass, and the option to receive bulletins by email — to a small farming community that might otherwise have no nearby Catholic parish. Visitors are warmly welcomed to celebrate Mass at 8:00 a.m. on Sundays at the church on Route 41.

In 1986 the parish community marked 150 years with a sesquicentennial Mass and a souvenir booklet that preserves the memory of pioneer Catholic families of the area.
