St. Augustine Parish is a Roman Catholic parish serving the coastal community of Lincoln City on the central Oregon coast. A parish of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon, it was founded in 1924–1925 by Fr. Charles Raymond and is now preparing to mark its 100th anniversary in 2025. The parish celebrates Mass in both English and Spanish, runs an active Faith Formation program for grades K–8, and is widely noted for its high level of lay involvement, with roughly two-thirds of parishioners engaged in some ministry.

Parish History & Centennial
St. Augustine traces its origins to 1924, when Father Charles Raymond purchased 80 acres between Devils Lake and the Pacific Ocean, platted it as "Raymond Township," and used the proceeds of lot sales along with benefactor support to build the original 20-by-40-foot church. That church was dedicated on May 30, 1925, and the surrounding community — sometimes still called Raymond Town — grew up around it. From May 3, 2024 to May 30, 2025 the parish observed its Centennial Year under the theme 'commemorate the past, celebrate the present, and capture the future,' opening with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Peter Smith and closing on May 30, 2025 with Archbishop Alexander Sample. The Centennial Committee, chaired by parishioner Celeste O'Brien, organized a year of events and produced a Centennial Booklet documenting the parish's first hundred years.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Children's Faith Formation is offered September through May on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm for students in grades K–8. The parish also runs a well-attended adult Bible study / adult education program coordinated by parishioner Diana Bates. Spanish-language faith formation for the parish's active Hispanic community — particularly its young families — is offered weekly by one of the parish deacons. First Holy Communion and Confirmation celebrations are typically scheduled in May.

Parish Ministries & Groups
Despite being a small parish, St. Augustine is known for an unusually high level of lay involvement — Mater Dei Radio has reported that roughly two-thirds of parishioners are engaged in a ministry or group. The Altar Society, Knights of Columbus, Finance Council, and Pastoral Council form the structural backbone of parish life, while liturgical and devotional ministries are led by named coordinators. Annual events such as the Family Fun Festival (geared toward young families) and the summer Parish Picnic draw the wider community together.

Outreach & Community Service
Service to the wider Lincoln City community is a defining part of parish identity. Since 2007 St. Augustine has hosted the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner, where volunteers prepare and deliver up to 600 meals each year to both in-person guests and the homebound. The parish also partners monthly with neighboring St. James Episcopal Church through the St. James Meal Program to provide dinner for those experiencing homelessness or food insecurity in the area, with St. Augustine's team serving on the second Monday of each month. Prior to the pandemic the parish also participated in Family Promise, hosting families needing shelter on a quarterly rotation.

St. Augustine is located on the main coastal highway (NW U.S. Highway 101) in Lincoln City, with a separate mailing address on NW Inlet Avenue. The parish office is open during morning and afternoon windows Tuesday through Friday and is closed Monday, Saturday, and Sunday.
