St. Anthony's Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the small farming community of Hughson, California, in the Diocese of Stockton. Its roots reach back to January 1918, when Father James Delahunty celebrated the first Mass in the home of Mrs. A.J. Serpa, and the mostly Portuguese community soon raised enough money to build its own church, dedicated on Christmas Day 1921. The present-day church and parish buildings were completed in 1967 under Father Eugenio Alves, and today the parish continues the same spirit of lay involvement, offering Mass and ministry in both English and Spanish.

Parish History
St. Anthony's began in 1918 as a humble mission community in Hughson, gathering first in homes, then in Northway's Hall, and finally in its own church on Christmas Day 1921. Forty-six years later, in 1967, the present-day church and parish buildings were constructed under Father Eugenio Alves, who called the new structure 'a new landmark to Hughson.' Today the same community spirit is alive across ministries, faith formation, youth, liturgy and finance — most conducted in both English and Spanish.

Mass & Worship Schedule
The parish celebrates seven Masses each week — five on Sunday — in both English and Spanish, and offers Daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Monday through Friday. Live Stream Masses are also referenced on the parish website for those unable to attend in person.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith formation is described by the parish as 'a vital element of the Catholic life,' offered in both English and Spanish for children and adults. Reconciliation and First Communion follow a three-year preparation process beginning in first grade, and older teens prepare for Confirmation under a dedicated coordinator.

Sacraments
St. Anthony's celebrates the seven sacraments, with pastoral staff helping families and individuals prepare for each one. Reconciliation is offered weekly (and by appointment); Baptism is prepared through monthly pre-baptismal classes; Marriage requires at least six months of preparation; and the Anointing of the Sick is available by calling the parish.
