Parish History
St. Anne Parish was organized in 1946 to serve Catholic families on Wichita's south side, and the parish school was added in 1960. Through the 1990s the surrounding neighborhood became more diverse, drawing Vietnamese and Hispanic families to the parish; in November 2004 the parish added a Spanish Mass to reflect that growth. The parish community has continued to grow despite the economic downturn that followed September 11, 2001, which brought layoffs at Wichita's aviation companies and other employers that affected some St. Anne households.

St. Anne Catholic School & Preschool
St. Anne Catholic School, founded in 1960, serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade and is a cornerstone of parish life. The school also operates a preschool program and a child-care/after-school program. Enrollment stands at about 210 elementary students and 67 high-school students, taught by 14 teachers under Principal Pamela Stead, with 77% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches. The school actively partners with the parish in faith, service and community projects.

Faith Formation & OCIA (RCIA)
The parish runs a full faith-formation program for children (PSR / Parish School of Religion) and a sacramental preparation track that includes First Communion and Confirmation. For adults, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) meets weekly — in English on Tuesdays in the Annex and in Spanish on Saturdays in the St. Joseph Conference Room — for those preparing to enter the Church or complete their initiation.

Liturgical & Music Ministries
Liturgical life is supported by a large team of trained lay ministers serving at every Mass. Schedules for lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, ushers, hospitality ministers, sacristans, altar servers, and slideshow operators are published in the weekly bulletin and rotated across the four weekend Masses (5:15 pm Vigil, 9:00 am English, 12:30 pm Spanish, 6:00 pm Spanish). The parish also maintains separate English and Spanish choirs with regular weekly rehearsals.

Devotions & Outreach
Beyond Mass and confession, St. Anne maintains a daily rhythm of popular devotions and outreach activities. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed each weekday afternoon, the Marian Mantle Rosary Group gathers regularly in both languages, and Stations of the Cross are prayed every Friday in Lent (English and Spanish), followed by a meatless community meal. The parish also runs an active Evangelization Team that has prepared for neighborhood missionary outreach, paired with English and Spanish retreats such as Encounter and Liberado.

Harvest House & Senior Life
Harvest House is the parish's ministry to adults 55 and older. Members meet the third Thursday of each month at noon in the St. Anne Family Room for a potluck meal and shared activities. The group also hosts the reception after the Anointing of the Sick Mass on the first Thursday of the month and occasionally organizes bus trips and outings. There are no dues, and new members are welcome at any time.

Sacraments at St. Anne
The parish celebrates all seven sacraments and provides ongoing sacramental preparation in both English and Spanish. Baptisms are scheduled regularly, including a regular Spanish Baptism Sunday each month; First Communion and Confirmation are prepared for through PSR and the school. Marriages are arranged through the parish office, the Anointing of the Sick is offered at the first-Thursday Mass, and Reconciliation is widely available.
