History of St. Anne Parish
St. Anne Parish was established in March 1945, with the founding assignment given to Fr. Frank J. Walsh. The first church was the Warren Village Barn, purchased for $14,000; it was remodeled and the first Mass was celebrated there on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946, with 225 founding families. Furnishings for the chapel were donated by many parishes and institutions across southeast Michigan — Annunciation (Detroit), St. Augustine (Richmond), the Fisher Building (Detroit), Sacred Heart (Imlay City), St. Patrick (Wyandotte), St. Juliana (Detroit), and the Confraternity Office.

Building the Permanent Church (1964–1965)
By 1962 the parish began planning a permanent church. The firm of Charles M. Valentine and Associates of Marysville, Michigan was engaged as architect, and Clarence Gleeson Incorporated was the successful general contractor. Ground was broken on Sunday, April 5, 1964, and on Saturday, August 21, 1965, Archbishop John F. Dearden — accompanied by his secretary Fr. Joseph Imesch — consecrated the new building in a ceremony described as a 'spectacular combination of sights, sounds and people.'

St. Anne Catholic Grade School
St. Anne Catholic Grade School was founded in 1949 and was originally staffed by the IHM Sisters, with Sr. Mary Lorenza, IHM as its first principal. The school is located at 5920 Arden Avenue, Warren, MI 48092, and serves Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade as a coeducational elementary school affiliated with the Roman Catholic tradition and the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). The 1953 multi-purpose building — built as auditorium/gymnasium and used for decades as a temporary church — still serves today as the school's gymnasium.

Faith Formation and Youth Ministry
Faith Formation at St. Anne spans the whole parish — from kindergarten through senior adults — and includes sacramental preparation (Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation), the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA/RCIA) for adults and youth, and a junior-high program called D.A.S.H. (Disciples Actively Striving 4 Holiness) that combines religious education, Confirmation preparation, social events, and service opportunities. Adult formation includes scripture study, faith-sharing groups, and enrichment.

Communion of Saints Family of Parishes
St. Anne is part of the Communion of Saints Family of Parishes (also referenced as Central Macomb Vicariate Family 3 / Northeast Central Macomb Family 3), an In Solidum collaborative model in which a team of priests shares pastoral responsibility across several parishes. The other member parishes are St. Faustina (Warren), St. Louise de Marillac (Warren), St. Mark (Warren), and St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families (Center Line). Rev. Born Duluth, MN May 12, 1924; ordained May 22, 1948 by Cardinal Mooney; previously associate at Mt. Carmel (Wyandotte), St. Florian (Hamtramck), SS. Peter and Paul and St. Bartholomew (Detroit), and three years as pastor of Corpus Christi, Detroit. Left in June 1983 for health; passed away in 2017.

Previously at St. Brigid (Detroit), St. Veronica (East Detroit), St. Rene Goupil (Sterling Heights), St. Lawrence (Utica), and St. Anne (Ortonville).
