St. Anne – St. Joseph Hiển is a bilingual Roman Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, located in the Camden neighborhood of north Minneapolis at 2627 Queen Avenue North. The parish was formed in 2005 by the merger of two communities: St. Anne's, a parish with French-Canadian roots dating back to the 1880s whose current stone church was completed in 1949, and Blessed/St. Joseph Hiển, a parish established in 1987 to serve Vietnamese-American Catholics who arrived in Minnesota after 1975. Today the parish offers Masses in both English and Vietnamese, ministered by priests of the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer (CRM), and its Vietnamese patron saint is one of the 117 Vietnamese Martyrs canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 1988.

Bilingual Sunday and weekday Masses (English and Vietnamese), ongoing Vietnamese Catholic formation, Eucharistic Adoration, and a parish staff drawn from the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer (a religious order that has served this community for decades) all make it a true spiritual home for Vietnamese Catholics while welcoming English-speaking neighbors from the Camden neighborhood of north Minneapolis. St. Anne – St. Joseph Hiển is a bilingual Roman Catholic parish in the Camden neighborhood of north Minneapolis, within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The parish serves both English-speaking and Vietnamese-American Catholics from a stone church completed in 1949, and is staffed by priests of the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer (CRM). Its Vietnamese patron, St. Joseph Hiển, is one of the 117 Martyrs of Vietnam canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 1988.
History of the Parish
The parish was formed in 2005 by merging St. Anne's, founded by French-speaking Catholics (originally as St. Clotilde's, then reincorporated after a fire as St. Anne in 1884), with St. Joseph Hiển, canonically erected in 1987 to serve Vietnamese-American Catholics who had begun gathering for Mass in their own language in 1976. The Vietnamese Catholic Community was hosted in various Twin Cities parishes before purchasing a former Protestant church on Dupont Avenue in 1987, then moved into the 1949 stone church on Queen Avenue after the merger. Archbishop Harry Flynn signed the decree of merger on May 10, 2005 and installed Fr. Piô Nguyễn Quang Đán, CMC as the first pastor of the combined parish on July 3, 2005.

Clergy, Staff and Councils
Pastoral care is provided by priests of the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer (CRM), a religious order that has accompanied this community since 1984. Fr. Thomas Tuan Nguyen, CRM is the current pastor; Fr. Ignatius Trieu Hoang, CRM serves as parochial vicar. Ngoc Quy Nguyen is the parish secretary; Michelle Plombon is Music Director, with John Paul Vu also serving in the music ministry. The parish is guided by a Pastoral Council and supported by a Stewardship Council and a Financial Council whose lay members include Thomas Tam Ha, John Heltemes and Larry McNichols.

Music and Liturgy
Liturgical music is coordinated by Music Director Michelle Plombon, with John Paul Vu assisting. The bilingual schedule — three Sunday Masses plus weekday Masses — gives the music ministry an opportunity to support both English and Vietnamese hymnody.

Bilingual Parish Life
From the founding of the Vietnamese Catholic Community in 1976 onward, the parish has explicitly kept English-language worship alive alongside Vietnamese-language worship: an English Sunday Mass at 8:30 AM and an English Tuesday Mass at 8:30 AM are maintained for English-speaking parishioners, and English Masses and sacraments are offered by exception on special occasions. English-speaking parishioners are also invited into the shared Parish Pastoral Council.
