History & Significance

St. Anne Catholic Church and Shrine in Santa Monica, California, is a parish of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, founded in 1908. Its present church on Colorado Avenue was completed in 1928 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and is attributed to the noted Los Angeles architect Paul R. Williams. Long a spiritual home to the area's Latino community, the parish offers Mass in English and Spanish and was designated a Santa Monica City Landmark in 2008.

Why belong here

St. Anne offers an unusually full daily Mass schedule in both English and Spanish — three Sunday Spanish Masses, daily Mass Monday through Saturday, and weekday evening English Masses — making it a convenient spiritual home for bilingual Catholic families on the Westside. Devotional life is strong, with weekly Confession on Saturday and Thursday, weekly Eucharetic Adoration on Thursday evening, and monthly First-Friday Adoration. The parish runs a Religious Education program (with its own office hours and contact line) and a Youth Group, and it welcomes new parishioners through a warm bilingual parish staff at 2011 Colorado Avenue.
