St. Ann Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Shinnston, West Virginia, part of the Diocese of Wheeling–Charleston (now the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston). The parish was established in 1923, with Rev. Patrick J. Mullally as its first pastor, during the same year as the Seventh Diocesan Synod. The current church building at 610 Pike Street was constructed in 1952 and features a one-story gable-front brick exterior with a cross at the peak, an arched stone decorative panel around the entrance doors, and leaded stained glass windows. About St. Ann Parish
St. Ann Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish serving Shinnston and the surrounding North Harrison region of West Virginia. History
The parish was founded in 1923 under Bishop John Joseph Swint — the fourth Bishop of Wheeling later known as 'God's Bricklayer' for his prolific building of Catholic churches across the diocese. Rev. Patrick J. Mullally was named the first pastor. St. Ann was one of five new parishes created that same year during the Seventh Diocesan Synod. The brick church at 610 Pike Street was constructed in 1952 to replace the original mission chapel, and its architectural description is preserved in the West Virginia Division of Culture and History documentation for the Shinnston Historic District. The parish continues to mark its Catholic identity in the heart of Pike Street's historic commercial corridor.

Sacraments
St. Ann prepares and welcomes parishioners for the seven sacraments according to the ordinary pastoral schedule of the Diocese of Wheeling–Charleston. Baptisms are scheduled through the parish office, with required instruction sessions for parents before the baptism of a first child. First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation are received through the parish Religious Education program. Couples preparing for Marriage must contact the parish office at least six months before the proposed wedding date. The sick and homebound may receive Holy Communion by calling the parish office; a dedicated sacramental emergency line (304-780-8003) is staffed for Anointing of the Sick and last rites.

Religious Education & Faith Formation
St. Ann's Religious Education (CCD) program is led by Director Mandy Bowen, with Fr. Joseph directing the RCIA/OCIA classes for adults seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church. Classes are held after Sunday Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and follow the school calendar. Teachers cover Pre-K through Confirmation, with John DeMarco teaching Pre-K through Grade 1, Mandy Bowen teaching Grades 2–5, and Mary Ann Ferris teaching Grade 6 and Confirmation classes. St. Ann's liturgy is supported by a wide range of lay liturgical ministries. The St. Ann Choir is led by Music Coordinator Colleen Driscoll, with organists Colleen Driscoll and Josh Minear, and cantors Nancy Hall, Robbie Spadafore, Key Belcastro, John Belcastro, Kylea Radcliff, and Mandy Bowen. Parish Societies and Outreach
Beyond the sanctuary, parish life at St. Ann is sustained by several lay-led societies. The Altar and Rosary Society is led by President Renee Book, Vice-President Betty Sweiger, Secretary Linda Knight, and Treasurer Robby Spadafore. The Men's Group is led by President Sam DeMarco, Vice-President Tom Alonso, and Secretary/Treasurer Jimmy Spadafore. The Funeral Dinners Ministry provides meals to grieving families and is coordinated through the parish office (304-592-2733) with Betty Swiger (304-584-4376) and Renee Book (304-592-3506) as key contacts. A team of Home Ministers (Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound) regularly brings Holy Communion to the sick and shut-in members of the parish.
