St. Ann Catholic Church is a historic rural parish in Plattsburg, Missouri, founded in 1866 and serving the area's Catholics for over 130 years. The current English Gothic church, built in 1887–1888 under Fr. Denis Keily and dedicated in December 1888, stands at 700 W Maple Street and remains the spiritual home of a growing community of young families. A parish of the Diocese of Kansas City–Saint Joseph, it is currently shepherded by Fr. Parish History
St. Ann Catholic Church was established in 1866 in Plattsburg, Missouri, after Irish Catholic immigration following the Civil War grew the local Catholic population. A modest first church stood downtown, followed by an a-frame church at 5th and Maple. Ground was broken in April 1887 for the present English Gothic church, which was solemnly dedicated in December 1888 under Fr. Denis Keily. The interior was elaborately painted in 1893 with 17 symbols of salvation history. Fr. Keily also founded St. Brenden Catholic School, gave up his rectory for the teaching sisters, and lived in the back of the church until his death in 1929. His successor, Fr. Cummins, built the current rectory. The school closed during the Great Depression in 1939, the convent was demolished in the mid-1950s, and the parish hall was built in 1967. Today the parish describes itself as growing again, with many young families, a new homeschool academy, and ongoing restoration efforts.

Sacraments
St. Ann celebrates the seven sacraments through its liturgy and PSR preparation programs. Couples are asked to contact Fr. Drew 6–9 months before a proposed wedding date. Baptism is arranged through the pastor, and First Communion and Confirmation are prepared through the Parish School of Religion. The Anointing of the Sick is available by calling the rectory and following the recorded directions.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
St. Ann runs a K–12 Parish School of Religion (PSR) that meets on Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. in the parish hall, running from early September through May. Sacramental preparation for First Communion is offered in 2nd grade, and Confirmation preparation in 8th grade/Freshman year. The Director of Religious Education, Madeleine (Madelaine) Adams, oversees the program with Teresa Koch and Terry Miller. Adult Catechism Classes are also offered on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the parish hall, covering topics like the Three Types of Prayer, Mystical Theology, the Dark Night of the Soul, the Our Father, and (in November 2024) the Apostles' Creed. The parish is also developing additional K–1 intro, 3rd–5th grade, middle school, and high school enrichment tracks, as well as a homeschool academy.

Lay Ministries & Apostolates
A wide range of lay-led groups give St. Ann its character as a hands-on parish. The Knights of Columbus Rev. Denis Keily Council #9401 (Grand Knight Vince Benedetto) serves the parish and wider community; the Legion of Mary (President Tom Kutz) meets Sunday mornings in the rectory to pray and evangelize; the Visitation Sodality — a ladies' group dedicated to serving the parish and priest — meets on the 1st Saturday after the 8:30 a.m. Low Mass; the Domestic Church movement supports married couples through retreats and small circles; the Troops of St. George (chartered at St. Ann in April 2020) mentors fathers and sons; and a Plattsburg Nursing Home Apostolate visits residents at Oakridge and Nick's Healthcare Center.

St. Ann is led by Fr. Kevin Drew, who serves as pastor and is the principal contact for pastoral matters. Music is directed by Amie Friedl. Faith formation is led by Madeleine (Madelaine) Adams (PSR Director), Teresa Koch, and Terry Miller (Adult Catechism). The Finance Council includes Randy Dalinghaus, Bill Lueckenotte, Tom Morgan, Eric Niemann, and Cody O'Connor. Calvary Cemetery is overseen by Cody O'Connor.
