History
St. Ann Parish traces its origin to the German Catholic settlers of the St. Anna area who, after about ten years of traveling first to Johnsburg and then to Marytown for Mass, received permission in 1851 to establish their own parish. The community itself began in the fall of 1848 when roughly 70 emigrants from Hamburg, Germany settled near present-day New Holstein and built a log church; a parish school was added by 1878. After more than four decades the congregation outgrew the log structure and laid the cornerstone of a new brick church on November 4, 1895. That brick church — deliberately sited on the highest hill so that it would stand out across the rural landscape — remains the parish church today and was the centerpiece of the parish's 175th-anniversary celebration on May 31, 2026.

Sacraments
The three linked parishes share sacramental preparation under the direction of Fr. Alvan Amadi and Deacons Bernard "Pat" Knier and Dennis Bennin. Baptism is arranged at least a month in advance and prepared by Deacon Dennis. Confirmation is typically celebrated by high-school seniors in the fall of their senior year, jointly with students from Holy Rosary and Ss. Peter & Paul. Marriage preparation requires contacting Fr. Amadi at least six months before the wedding.
