St. Ann Catholic Church is a Roman Rite parish located in Kaufman, Texas, within the Diocese of Dallas. The parish was canonically erected on August 18, 1936, by Bishop Joseph Lynch, and traces its roots to Catholic families in the Lone Star community who had Mass celebrated in their homes as early as the 1920s. Today it serves roughly 550 families and offers Mass in both English and Spanish each week, with a strong tradition of family, faith formation, outreach, and a beloved annual fall carnival whose origins predate the parish itself.

History of St. Ann Catholic Parish
Catholic life in Kaufman predates the parish. As early as 1935, traveling priests from neighboring communities would celebrate Mass at the home of the Frank Pechal family for local Catholics. When those priests could no longer make the trip in the 1920s, Kaufman Catholics began driving to St. Martin's near Forney. As families multiplied, an acre of land was purchased for a future church and worship continued in the Lone Star community. On August 18, 1936, Bishop Joseph Lynch canonically erected St. Ann as a parish, with Father Wencelas Pechal as its first priest. Monsignor Casimir Glogowski — the parish's longest-serving pastor at nearly thirty years — later wrote the official parish history, recalling founding families such as the Hetmers, Mikilis, Henry, Rezniceks, Drozds, Elzners, and Novaks. The parish marked its 75th anniversary in 2011 with an international rosary and a Mass celebrated by Bishop Kevin Farrell alongside several former pastors.

Founding Families & Early Community
The Miklis family farm hosted St. Ann's annual fall carnival before the church was even built — the carnival was organized to raise money for the parish's first structure. The Miklis family also donated land for an early dance hall, which later burned down; the parcel is now the site of Numo Manufacturing.

Clergy & Pastoral Leadership
St. Ann's has been served by a succession of priests since 1936. The longest-serving pastor was Monsignor Casimir Glogowski, who ministered at the parish for nearly thirty years and authored its official history. As of the parish's 75th anniversary in 2011, Father Ely Manondo was the pastor — ordained in the Philippines, then serving five years there, three in Dallas, and then St. Ann's in Kaufman.

Ministries & Outreach
Beyond the celebration of the Eucharist, St. Ann's runs an active ministry of service: an indigent (outreach) ministry, adult faith formation / adult teaching, and the hosting of a free St. Luke's Clinic on parish grounds once a month. Parish leadership has identified 'the Eucharist, service in the community, the education and raising of our youth, and charity work' as the four pillars that keep the parish family coming back each week.

Annual Fall Carnival
The annual Fall Carnival is one of the parish's oldest traditions — predating the church building itself. It began on the Miklis family farm as a fundraiser to help erect the first St. Ann's structure and has continued as a community-building tradition for generations of Kaufman Catholics.
