Parish History & Founding Story
St. Ann began in 1983 when two Coppell women approached the Diocese of Dallas with the idea of forming a new Catholic community for the fast-growing suburb. The Coppell Catholic Community Mission was established as a mission of Mary Immaculate Parish in October 1984, with the first Mass — 225 people strong — held in the 'Little White House' in Old Town Coppell. By 1986 the Diocese of Dallas officially established St. Ann as a parish, and in 1989 the first permanent building on the current campus, the Assembly Room, was dedicated. The main church followed in 2001.

Pastoral Leadership & Staff
St. Ann is led by Fr. Edwin Leonard as Pastor, supported by Parochial Vicars Fr. Allen-Michael Muench and Fr. Aristeo Berrum (the latter serving as Vicario Parroquial for the Spanish-speaking community). Six deacons assist with liturgy and ministry, including Dcn. Manny Rendon, Dcn. Eduardo Barajas, and Dcn. Jose Ramirez, who specifically serve the Spanish-speaking faithful. Christian Initiation (RCIA) & Adult Faith Formation
St. Ann's Christian Initiation program welcomes unbaptized adults, baptized Christians from other denominations, and Catholics who wish to complete their sacraments (especially Confirmation). Candidates are paired with a parishioner mentor and join a small Community Group in an 'apprenticeship learning' model, exploring Catholic teaching and life at St. Ann. The parish also runs two entry-level programs — Alpha, an open and informal introduction to Christianity, and Foundations of Faith, a structured nine-week course — both of which feed into the wider St. Ann Discipleship Pathway.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry
The parish's Youth Ministry, led by Director Tim Jara, prepares middle- and high-school teens for the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation (Confirmation is celebrated in 10th grade). Preparation is blended online with full participation in the parish's youth ministry program. Young adults (typically ages 21–35) gather twice a month for DECLARE — a Monday-night worship, adoration and confession event in the Chapel — and many take part in the annual summer Mission Laredo trip, which sends more than 100 teens and adult leaders into South Texas for service and faith formation.

Sisters in Christ & Women's Ministry
Sisters in Christ is St. Ann's women-only small-group ministry for ages 21 and up, currently running 10 active groups across Coppell, Lewisville, and Flower Mound. Each group chooses its own meeting cadence, location (homes, the parish, restaurants, libraries), and study material, provided the Catholic Church approves the resources. The wider ministry hosts annual community events including the Advent Brunch (first Saturday in December), whose proceeds are donated back to other St. Ann ministries.

Worship, Music & Liturgy
Worship at St. Ann is shaped by a full Music & Liturgy team led by Director Curtis Stephan, supported by musicians and a parish-wide Music & Liturgy ministry. Masses are celebrated in both English and Spanish, two Sunday Masses (10 AM English and 2 PM Spanish) are live-streamed on the parish website, and a network of liturgical ministers — lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, ushers — supports the parish's six Sunday and seven weekday Masses. The PEA (Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration) Ministry commits to praying 24/7 for the parish in the Adoration Chapel.

St. Ann's outreach reflects its identity as a large suburban parish with strong regional and international ties. The Magi Ministry, now 35 years old, brings Christmas gifts and assistance to more than 3,800 people in need each year, while Mission Laredo sends more than 100 teens and adult leaders into South Texas for a week of service and faith formation. The parish also contributes substantially to the Diocese of Dallas, pledging $6.2 million to the 'Our Faith, Our Future' campaign that supports priestly formation, Catholic schools, the cathedral, and Catholic Charities.

Getting Involved & Mission Tracks
St. Ann funnels new volunteers through 'Mission Tracks,' a parish-wide orientation where people discover the gifts they can offer the parish. From there, parishioners can join a Core Team working with young people, the Sunday Team that welcomes everyone on campus, a Marriage or Baptism Preparation team, the PEA prayer team supporting perpetual Adoration, or any of the parish's roughly 80 active ministries. Building Hope — Capital Campaign & Facilities
Even with more than 8,000 families, St. Ann's leaders say the Coppell campus still has unused space that isn't reaching its full potential. The parish's Building Hope campaign, developed over four years by a parish building committee, will finish 19,687 square feet and renovate 17,381 square feet of space to better serve parishioners and the wider Catholic community. The campaign was underwritten in part by the parish's $6.2 million pledge to the Diocese of Dallas's Our Faith, Our Future campaign, of which approximately $1.9 million is being returned to St. Ann for on-campus work.
