The parish dates from 1883 and is now twinned with neighboring St. Gertrude and Holy Family churches to form a tri-parish community served by one pastoral team. The Archdiocese of St. Louis describes the parish in its own words: 'Just as St. Ann nurtured the Blessed Virgin Mary as the first and best disciple of Jesus, we see ourselves as a nurturing community making more disciples for Jesus. Prayer, hospitality, and service are the three things we do best.' Mass is celebrated in a modest 1927-built country church on Highway YY, and the parish carries on the rural Catholic life that first took root when Jesuit missionaries passed through these clover fields more than a century ago.

History
The parish was formally established in 1883, more than a generation after Jesuit missionaries first organized Catholic life in nearby Washington and Neier in Franklin County. The community of Clover Bottom itself takes its name from the fields of clover those early Jesuit fathers found in the area. The present church building was constructed in 1927 — the date 'A.D. 1927' is inscribed on its façade — and replaced an earlier mission chapel. The parish received its IRS recognition as a 501(c)(3) religious organization in March 1946. Today St. Ann remains a small country parish serving the farms and rural homes of eastern Franklin County, sharing its pastoral team with sister churches in the tri-parish grouping.
