Our History
St. Ann Catholic Church was founded in 1889 by local citizens of Excelsior Springs — Catholic and non-Catholic alike — to serve both residents and the many visitors drawn to the town for its mineral waters. In 1917, under Father Bruke's pastorate, the original one-story frame church was remodeled with a brick veneer, producing a late Gothic Revival building on S. Kansas City Avenue. By the 1970s the parish had outgrown that campus and built its current church and rectory at Lynn and Tracy Avenues, carefully moving the original stained-glass windows into the new sanctuary.

Architecture & Setting
The early St. Ann was a center-steeple Gothic Revival building, brick-veneered in 1917 around an older frame structure, with the stained-glass windows that became a hallmark of the parish. When the current church was built in the 1970s/1975, those windows were moved into the new sanctuary. Faith Formation & Education
