The Chapel of St. Martin in St. Martin, Ohio is a mission chapel of St. Angela Merici Parish in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. St. Angela Merici Parish was formed in 2003 through the merger of St. Patrick Parish (Fayetteville) and St. Martin Parish, and the parish now celebrates Mass at the former St. Patrick church (Chapel of St. Patrick) in Fayetteville, with the Chapel of St. Martin serving as a secondary worship site. The chapel stands in the small Brown County village of St. Martin, a historic frontier settlement founded by French and Irish Catholic immigrants and famous as the 1845 home of the Ursuline Sisters of Brown County.

The parish offers daily and Sunday Mass, regular Reconciliation (including Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings), an active Religious Education Program (REP), RCIA, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Altar Society, and other faith-formation and outreach groups. Worshippers also share in the living legacy of the Ursuline Sisters of Brown County, who have ministered from St. Martin since 1845 and continue their educational and pastoral work today.

St. Angela Merici Parish in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati serves the Catholic communities of Fayetteville and St. Martin in northern Brown County, Ohio. Canonically established in 2003, it was formed through the merger of historic St. Patrick Parish (Fayetteville) and St. Martin Parish. History of St. Martin and the Chapel of St. Martin
The village of St. Martin was settled by French and Irish Catholic immigrants in the early 19th century. In 1845, eleven Ursuline Sisters arrived at Archbishop Purcell's invitation to found a school, and St. Martin Parish grew up around the convent and academy. After more than a century of independent parish life, in 2003 St. Martin was merged with St. Patrick of Fayetteville into St. Angela Merici Parish; the village church continues to serve as a mission chapel.

The Ursuline Sisters of Brown County and Chatfield College
The Ursuline Sisters have ministered from St. Martin since 1845, when Archbishop Purcell invited Mother Julia Chatfield and ten companions to found a school for young women. Their boarding school — the Saint Ursula Literary Institute — educated more than 4,200 students over 136 years; today the sisters sponsor Chatfield College on the St. Martin campus (incorporated 1971; now with an additional campus in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine). An Ohio Historical Marker was dedicated on the campus in 2021.
