Parish History
St. Andrew's roots reach back to 1881, when German homesteaders brought their Catholic faith to the Eau Pleine valley. The first church was a 22-by-40-foot log building erected in 1883 on two donated acres. The brick church that followed was formally dedicated by Bishop James Schwebach on August 8, 1897. By 1950 the parish served about 880 members across 160 families in a 40-square-mile area, prompting the construction of the present-day church in 1953.

St. Andrew shares its pastoral and administrative team with its partner parish, St. Joseph in Stratford. Father Eric Mashak serves as Parochial Administrator for both parishes; he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of La Crosse on June 26, 2021.

Faith Formation & Religious Education (CCD)
All children of St. Joseph and St. Andrew parishes are invited to attend weekly faith formation classes. The program is designed to partner with families — recognizing the home as the 'domestic Church' — to give children the best possible faith formation experience. Children in grades 1 through 10 who do not attend Catholic school are expected to attend weekly religion classes.

- St. Joseph Grades 1–6 meet Wednesdays 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM in St. Joseph Cafeteria

- Fees: $45 for one child; $85 for two; $120 for three; $120 maximum per family
- $20 late fee for forms received after November 1
- Financial assistance / fee waivers available on request
- CCD classes are cancelled whenever school is cancelled
Sacramental Preparation
St. Andrew's faith formation program walks children and teens through the sacraments of initiation. Sacramental preparation is offered for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in the 2nd grade, and Confirmation is celebrated in the fall of a student's junior year of high school, with preparation taking place throughout grades 9 and 10.

St. Andrew is closely linked with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stratford, sharing clergy, staff, religious education, and faith formation programs. St. Joseph Parish operates St. Joseph Catholic School, which serves students in 3K through Grade 8 with weekly Mass, Reconciliation opportunities, religion classes, and community service. The school is staffed by Wisconsin-licensed educators who also hold religious certification with the Diocese of La Crosse.
