St. Andrew is a Roman Catholic parish in the village of Sloan, New York, in Erie County, within the Diocese of Buffalo. Founded in 1915 to serve Polish-American families — many of whom had previously walked to Mass at St. John Kanty Parish on Buffalo's East Side — the parish today celebrates daily Mass in its Mid-Century Modern church at 34 Francis Avenue and operates a Faith Formation program for parish children. The parish also maintains a parish cemetery where more than 3,000 people have been laid to rest over the last century.

Parish History
St. Andrew Parish was founded in 1915 after Father Andrew Garstka of St. John Kanty Parish in Buffalo asked Bishop Charles H. Colton to establish a parish to serve Catholic families — many of Polish descent — in the newly growing village of Sloan. The first Mass was celebrated on February 14, 1915 in space rented from the local Protestant Congregational church, and Father Francis Kaluzny was appointed the first pastor. By the end of that year, Venerable Nelson Baker laid the cornerstone of a combined church, convent and school. Over the next century the parish built its current Mid-Century Modern church (designed by Joseph E. Fronczak, dedicated 1956), grew its cemetery to more than 3,000 interments, and in 2015 celebrated a centennial year of Masses, reflection evenings, fundraisers, and a closing liturgy with Bishop Richard J. Malone.

Mass & Worship Schedule
St. Andrew offers a traditional daily Mass schedule: an 8:00 AM weekday Mass Monday through Friday, the 4:00 PM Saturday Vigil Mass that fulfills the Sunday obligation, and one Sunday Mass at 11:00 AM. Confessions are heard on Saturday afternoons before the Vigil Mass. The Faith Formation / Religious Education office lists these same times as the parish's published schedule.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish runs its own Faith Formation program for the children of registered families. Clergy & Pastoral Leadership
Rev. Fabian J. Maryanski served as pastor of St. Andrew from 2005 until his retirement in 2014; the parish later removed his name from its parish center. Day-to-day pastoral leadership has been provided by Deacon David E. Clabeaux, who led the parish through the 2015 centennial celebrations and is identified in parish materials as a key administrator.

Parish Cemetery
St. Andrew has maintained its own parish cemetery since its founding in 1915. Across 100 years, more than 3,000 people have been buried there, and the parish has preserved the sacramental and burial registers going back to the inaugural year. During the 2015 centennial, the names of every person recorded in those books were placed before the altar for a memorial Mass for deceased parishioners.

Centennial Celebrations (2015)
Throughout 2015 the parish marked 100 years with a year-long program under the theme 'Praising the Spirit from Age to Age.' Deacon David E. Clabeaux led three evenings of Scripture reflection looking at the parish's first century, present, and future. Activities included a miniature-golf fundraiser, a memorial Mass for deceased parishioners, a centennial cookbook of 300 recipes, commemorative car magnets, and an updated parish directory drawing on the books published at the 50th and 75th anniversaries. The capstone was a 3:00 PM centennial Mass on October 25, 2015 celebrated by Bishop Richard J. Malone, followed by a dinner at the Millennium Hotel Restaurant on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga.
