History
St. Andrew Kim Parish was canonically erected in 2010 by the Archdiocese of Seattle as part of a wave of new parishes serving immigrant Catholic communities in the region. The parish is named for St. Andrew Kim Dae-geon, the first native Korean Catholic priest, who was martyred in 1846 and canonized in 1984. Before the parish was established, a Korean Catholic community and Korean language school already existed in Seattle: the St. Andrew Kim Korean School was founded in September 1990 as a ministry of Christ the Peace Catholic Church and relocated to the St. Andrew Kim campus in 2002.
