Parish Identity and Patron Saint
St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church is a Korean Catholic parish in Houston named after St. Andrew Kim Taegon, the first native Korean Catholic priest. Andrew Kim was martyred in 1846 at age 25 during the persecutions of the Joseon Dynasty and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in Seoul on 6 May 1984 as one of the 103 Korean Martyrs. He is the patron saint of Korean clergy, and his memorial — shared with Paul Chong Ha-sang and Companions — is celebrated on 20 September.

In preparation for its 50th anniversary, the parish is actively compiling a 50-year history of its faith journey for future generations.

Devotions and Pastoral Activities
Beyond regular Masses, the parish maintains several ongoing devotional and pastoral rhythms. A special Our Lady of Mercy Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of every month, and a Communion of the Sick ministry brings the Eucharist to homebound parishioners during the second week of every month.
