Parish History & Growth
St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Hawley was born in 1978 when a small group of local Catholics approached Bishop Victor Balke of the Diocese of Crookston about building a church in their community. After the bishop's approval, the parish was named for St. Andrew the Apostle, and Bishop Balke returned to dedicate the new church on September 7, 1980. From those beginnings with just 69 registered family units, St. Andrew's has grown to more than 190 families and has expanded its physical campus through three development phases, the latest culminating in a new addition dedicated in 2011.

Mission, Vision & Pastoral Leadership

The parish actively supports diocesan vocations through the Travelling Crucifix for Vocations program, in which families and individuals sign up to take a blessed crucifix home for a week of daily prayer for an increase in vocations in the Diocese of Crookston and at St. Andrew's specifically. The parish also gathers notes of encouragement to send to the diocese's seminarians and postulants.
