Saint Andrew Parish is a large, multicultural Catholic community in Coral Springs, Florida, founded on May 29, 1969 as the first Catholic parish in the then six-year-old city. Today it serves nearly 9,000 multi-ethnic and multi-cultural families within the Archdiocese of Miami, offering Mass in both English and Spanish, a PreK2–grade 8 parish school, more than 50 ministries, and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Parish History
When St. Andrew was founded in 1969, the six-year-old city of Coral Springs was little more than a bean farm and cow pasture. Father Patrick E. Farrell celebrated the first Mass at 8:15 AM at the Coral Ridge Administration Building (now City Hall) and a 10:00 AM Mass in private homes. Twenty-five families made up the original flock; today the parish counts more than 2,600 families (and nearly 9,000 in the broader parish register). Over five decades, St. Andrew grew from a borrowed altar — an old wooden door, cut and hinged — into a campus with a permanent church (dedicated 1972, replaced 1982), a parish school (opened 1976), and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel (dedicated 2009).

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith formation at St. Andrew is understood as a lifelong process for all Catholics — not just children. The parish offers a coordinated slate of programs in both English and Spanish that includes Religious Education for children preparing for First Communion and Confirmation, OCIA for adults, Liturgy of the Word for Children, intergenerational events, a parent support group, and the Youth4Christ middle- and high-school ministry. More than 1,500 children are served across these programs, taught that they are the hands and feet of Christ through time, talent, and treasure.

OCIA — Order of Christian Initiation for Adults
The OCIA process (formerly RCIA) walks inquirers through Catholic belief, worship, and living, with weekly meetings among participants, laypeople, and clergy, leading to the Sacraments of Initiation — Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. The parish welcomes unbaptized adults, baptized Christians from other traditions seeking full communion, and Catholics who have not yet received Confirmation or Eucharist.

Saint Andrew Catholic School
Saint Andrew Catholic School is a faith-filled parish school serving children of the parish and the wider community, with grades PreK2 through 8. Operating under the motto 'First Called,' the school forms students who respond to God's call through faith, learning, and service — modeled on the parish's patron, Saint Andrew, the first disciple called by Jesus. The school was originally dedicated on December 8, 1976 by Archbishop Edward McCarthy and remains a cornerstone of the parish's ministry.

Young Adult Ministry — CommonPlace
CommonPlace is a triparish Catholic young adult ministry for adults ages 19–38 in the northwest Broward area. The group gathers at St. Andrew every Monday evening for a Holy Hour at 6:00 PM followed by a meeting at 7:00 PM.

Outreach & Parish Ministries
More than 50 ministries and organizations are active at St. Andrew, formed to meet the needs of both the English- and Spanish-speaking communities. The Community Outreach Program provides food, financial assistance, and other support services to neighbors in need. Other groups care for the altar linens, chalices, ciboria and chasubles, lead Bible study, support the bereaved, and sponsor the Scouts. The parish operates a small bookstore where parishioners can purchase rosaries, confirmation crosses, wood carvings, and other religious items.
