About St. Alphonsus
The Parish of St. Alphonsus, Davenport has served the spiritual needs of the people of the West End for over a hundred years. The parish continues to embrace the needs of service to the poor, education of the young, spiritual growth of the faithful and fellowship for all.
Our Patron: St. Alphonsus Liguori
St. Alphonsus Liguori, born in 1696 near Naples, Italy, was a priest and theologian who dedicated his life to serving the poor and most abandoned. He founded the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) in 1732. His teachings emphasize love, prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, and devotion to Christ above all else.
