Greetings from Fr. Miguel Gálvez, Pastor
Father Miguel Gálvez is the pastor of Divine Mercy Parish and a member of the Society of Jesus Christ the Priest. Born in Chile, educated in Spain, and ordained in the United States, he is described on the parish's school page as someone who loves theology, history, soccer, and 'above all, teaching religion.' In February 2026 the pastorate celebrated his 25th Anniversary of Ordination with Mass at St. Aloysius followed by a reception with Mexican cuisine in the St. Aloysius School gym.
Founding History of St. Aloysius
St. Aloysius Catholic parish traces its origins to around 1845, when German Catholic settlers in the Sauk Prairie established it as their spiritual home. By 1852 the parish had grown enough that its priest, Reverend Adelbert Inama, was planting mission churches across the countryside—including Honey Creek (Our Lady of Loretto), Plain (St. Luke's), and Loreta (St. Patrick's). In 1935 the congregation marked its 90th anniversary, a milestone recorded in the Capital Times.

Devotions & Liturgical Life
Beyond Mass and Confession, St. Aloysius offers Solemn Vespers (Evening Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours) led by Deacon Michael, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Dec. 12) with rosary, Mass and parish procession, Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent, and a Youth Choir that rehearses children ages 7 and up for special liturgies such as Christmas Eve.

St. Aloysius School is a parish Catholic grade school serving children in 4K through 8th grade. Faith Formation & Family Catechesis
