History
The parish was founded in the years following the Second World War to serve the growing Catholic population of Romulus and the surrounding Wayne County farmland. The University of Notre Dame Archives preserve a written history of St. Aloysius covering the years 1951 through 1977. The cornerstone of the present church building was laid in 1948, and the structure still stands today near the interchange of I-275 and I-94.

Parish Staff & Clergy
The parish is pastored within the Archdiocese of Detroit's 'Priests in Solidum' model. The Moderator of the South West Wayne 2 Family of Parishes is Rev. John Hedges, and Rev. Religious Education & Faith Formation
Faith formation at St. Aloysius is coordinated jointly with neighboring St. Stephen Parish in New Boston as part of the South West Wayne 2 Family of Parishes. The Director of Religious Education, Kimberly Gilliland, oversees programs that include a Kindergarten class for children ages 4–5. Parish Ministries & Groups
Parishioners serve the community through a small set of long-standing lay ministries. The parish explicitly invites lay men and women to use their time and talents to support the liturgy through altar serving, proclaiming as lectors, and (when scheduling resumes) distributing Holy Communion as Eucharistic Ministers. Prayer and fellowship groups meet outside of Mass.
