History of St. Alice Parish
The Catholic community of Plainview was first organized in 1911 as Holy Trinity Church, according to the Diocese of Lubbock's official parish timeline. In 1928 the parish was formally established and given its present name, Saint Alice. The parish now belongs to the Diocese of Lubbock, which was created in 1983 from territory of the former Diocese of Amarillo.

Parish Clergy & Staff
St. Alice is served by a full team of ordained and lay ministers. The current pastor is Rev. George Poonely, who was assigned on July 1, 2020. He is assisted by parochial vicar Rev. Angelo Consemino (assigned February 15, 2023) and sacramental minister Rev. Jeremy Trull (assigned July 1, 2022). Four permanent deacons — Arturo Hinojosa, Ruben Moran, Jaime Salinas, and Manuel Marin — assist with liturgy and pastoral care.
