St. Agnes Parish serves the small town of Uniontown in Union County, Kentucky, as one of six Catholic churches in this Ohio River community. History of St. Agnes
The parish dates to 1859 and grew into a center of Catholic education in Union County. From 1870 the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth staffed the parish school, which evolved from a co-educational grade school into St. Agnes School (1905 brick building) and later St. Agnes High School (opened 1920 in the chapel opposite the church). The 1937 Ohio River flood destroyed the high school building, and a new high school was added in 1938 with a new grade school following in 1962. The high school closed in 1963 and the grade school in 1989, ending 119 years of SCN teaching in Uniontown.

Bible Study & Ongoing Formation
In addition to the sacraments, St. Agnes hosts a regular Bible Study on Wednesday evenings, giving parishioners an opportunity for ongoing Scripture study outside of Sunday Mass.

Religious Education & RCIA
St. Agnes runs a parish-based religious education program for children from Kindergarten through Grade 8, meeting in the St. Agnes Parish Hall every other Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The parish also offers the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) for both teens (Wednesday 5:00 p.m.) and adults (Thursday 5:00 p.m.), welcoming those preparing for full initiation into the Catholic Church.
